MARTIAL ARTS EXPERIENCE

I first started martial arts at the age of 9, practicing Shotokan Karate for 3 years.

Later on, at the age of 17, I met Master Gu Ji from Shanghai. He studied traditional martial arts from an early age, under the guidance of Master Yang Zhenduo and Gu LiuXin in Shanghai. From him, I’ve

learned Chen style taijiquan, XingYi and Bagua for 6 years.

At the age of 25, I moved to Shanghai and lived there for 11 years. That’s around the time I first discovered Master Chen Zhonghua and discovered the Chen Style Practical method. Ever since, I’ve only practiced this form and followed Master Chen’s teaching through his Youtube channel.

In 2009, I started learning from Mao Jianjia （毛建家), a discipline of Liu Chengde who was the living in Shanghai. After he left in 2013, I started going to Daqingshan school where I finally met Master Chen Zhonghua.

In 2016, I moved to Singapore where I had some contacts with Master Chen’s students and participated in workshops. Finally, in 2025, I had the honor and privilege to be accepted as Master Chenhonghua’s disciple.
